Report proposes measures to improve Limerick estates
A new report is recommending major action to tackle crime and disadvantage in two of Limerick's most troubled housing estates.
The assessment by former Dublin city manager John Fitzgerald calls for the deployment of extra gardaà in Moyross and Southill, as well as the demolition of more than 1,000 sub-standard homes.
It also proposed a boundary extension that would bring Moyross within the confines of Limerick on a par with Southill.
The report is due to be presented to the Government later today.
