Ex-EU chief to address students

One of the most famous names in European politics is to address Dublin’s Trinity college today.

Jacques Santer – former President of the European Commission – is speak at Trinity’s Philosophical Society tonight.

Mr Santer is a former MEP, MP for Luxembourg, Minister of Finance for Luxembourg and served as the country’s prime minister from 1984 until 1995.

The international political figure addresses an audience at 7.30pm.

The university has recently attracted such notables as US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Former Conservative Party Leader Michael Howard, Oliver Stone and Al Pacino.
