Woman saved after car enters the water in Cork

Emergency services are at the scene of an incident in Monkstown in Cork.

A passer-by is reported to have seen a car going into the water just before half three this afternoon.

The man entered the water and pulled a woman, believed to be in her 30s, from the car.

She was brought to Cork University Hospital, where it is understood she is receiving treatment for minor injuries.

Naval divers, the Crosshaven lifeboat and Cork City Fire Service are all at the scene and it is not clear at this stage if there is anyone else missing.
