Minister calls for push to promote Galway Tourism

The Minister for Tourism John O'Donoghue is asking Fáilte Ireland, and Tourism Ireland, to intensify their efforts to promote Galway's tourism industry.

His call comes as the county's water crisis continues.

Over 90,000 people are being affected by contaminated water supplies, as well as hundreds of businesses.

On Friday the Government announced that almost €50m is to be spent on tackling Galway's water problems.

Today Minister O'Donoghue is asking the country's tourism bodies to explore new possibilities, and build on existing initiatives in place for promoting the county, with a view to alleviating any concerns that tourists may have.
