Three killed in Co Kerry head-on crash

Three people have been confirmed dead in a two-car collision in Co Kerry.

It happened at 10.35am at Dooneen, near Castleisland - on the Castleisland to Abbeyfeale road, about two miles from the town.

It is understood the two cars collided head-on.

The road has been closed off, and gardaí from Castleisland garda station are investigating.

This latest crash brings to 88 the number of people killed on the country's roads so far in 2007.
