A bench warrant for the arrest of a Kilkenny man charged with rape and running a brothel has been issued by Mr Justice Paul Carney at the Central Criminal Court because the accused failed to appear for his trial.

A bench warrant for the arrest of a Kilkenny man charged with rape and running a brothel has been issued by Mr Justice Paul Carney at the Central Criminal Court because the accused failed to appear for his trial.

The 32-year-old man previously pleaded not guilty to one charge of rape, two of controlling a prostitute and one charge of threatening a woman that a child would be killed. The crimes are alleged to have been committed by him on dates from July 27 to September 3, 2003
