Ceremony to mark anniversary of Rosemary Nelson murder

A memorial ceremony is to be held to mark the eighth anniversary of the murder of Co Armagh solicitor Rosemary Nelson.

The event is being organised by friends and family in a Portadown community centre today as work continues preparing for an inquiry into claims of collusion.

Ms Nelson had just left her home for work eight years ago when a bomb exploded under her car.

She was seriously injured and died three hours later in hospital.

Mrs Nelson had detailed death threats made against her to a special UN inquiry and to a congressional committee in Washington.

An inquiry is under way to investigate if more could have been done to save her life and whether or not there was police collusion in her killing.
