Family tied up by house raiders
A family of five were tied up during a robbery in Co Wexford, gardaí said today.
Two of the victims were assaulted and threatened during the ordeal and had to be treated in hospital for minor injuries and shock.
At least five men broke into the house shortly before 9pm in Ballycullane, southwest Wexford, demanding the keys to a safe, which were handed over.
A substantial quantity of antique jewellery was stolen before the gang fled the scene.
The house has been sealed off and the scene is being technically examined.
Gardaí in Co Wexford are appealing for witnesses.
