Second arrest made over Dundalk shooting

Gardaí have arrested a second person in relation to a shooting incident in Co Louth last night.

A 27-year-old man was shot in the hand and back by a lone gunman in a pub on Church Street in Dundalk just before 10pm.

He was taken to Louth Co Hospital, but has been transferred to St James' Hospital in Dublin where he is said to be in a serious condition.

A 35-year-old man was arrested just after midnight, and a 40-year-old woman has since detained by gardaí.

They are both being held at Dundalk garda station.
