Appeal for information in Lucan death launched
Gardaí are renewing their appeal for information into the death of Derek O' Toole in Lucan, West Dublin last weekend.
The 24-year-old died after he was struck by a car driven by an off-duty garda.
Gardaí believe that Derek O' Toole was lying on the ground in Lucan village when he was hit by a car in the early hours of last Sunday morning.
The off-duty garda driving the car was arrested and breathalysed but was not over the legal alcohol limit
Gardaí have issued a statement asking anyone who was in the Lucan village or Sarsfield Park area between 4.30am and 5.30am who haven't spoken to gardaí to come forward.
They are especially anxious to speak with the driver or occupants of a car which was turning at the entrance to Sarsfield Park and heading towards Lucan Village just before 5am
