The DUP and Sinn Féin were making significant gains in the Northern Ireland Assembly Elections.

As of 11pm tonight, the DUP had 20 MLAs elected, Sinn Féin 19, the Ulster Unionists 4, the nationalist SDLP 4, the cross-community Alliance 2.
