80 jobs to go at Cork electronics firm
Eighty people are to be made redundant at Bourns Electronics in Mahon, Co Cork, it emerged this afternoon.
The company said the decision had been taken due to the increasing costs of manufacturing in Ireland, with the jobs to go to lower-cost locations in Hungary and Mexico.
Meanwhile, workers at Procter and Gamble in Tipperary today were told that 280 jobs are to go at the company, with skincare production to be moved from Nenagh to a new plant in Poland.
