Questions asked about disappearance of NI sex offender

Questions are being asked about how a high-risk sex offender in the North breached his conditions of release despite being under 24-hour watch.

Seventy-eight-year-old Robert Simpson Wallace hasn't been seen since last week and police on both sides of the border are on the alert for him.

He was convicted of a string of offences at his trial, during which he skipped bail and was found living in Larne, Co Antrim.

He was subsequently released on condition that he live at a designated address, but disappeared last August before being discovered in Lurgan, Co Armagh.

He disappeared again last Thursday and police are warning people not to approach him as he is a serious risk.
