A US researcher has warned parents not to give children mobile phones, claiming they are exposing their children to an increased risk of brain tumours and autism.

American researcher Dr George Carlo has conducted a €20m research project into the health risks of mobile phones.

He has told a doctor's conference here that his research proves radio waves emitted by mobile phones cause cellular damage.

And he warned parents that children's cells are particularly vulnerable to this.
