Irish-based Dutch priest to be granted sainthood

A Dutch priest who spent most of life in Dublin is to be canonised.

A Dutch priest who spent most of life in Dublin is to be canonised.

Blessed Charles of Mount Argus will be raised to the sainthood at a ceremony in Rome in June.

Born in Holland in 1821 he spent his time in Ireland working with the sick and dying and was said to have healing power.

Thousands attended his funeral in 1893.
