Postmaster hurt in robbery bid

A Dublin postmaster was hurt today during an attempted raid by three men armed with hammers.

A Dublin postmaster was hurt today during an attempted raid by three men armed with hammers.

The three men broke into the post office in Clontarf north Dublin at 8.20am.

Investigating gardaí at Clontarf Station confirmed glass was broken during the raid and one male employee received an injury to his hand.

He was treated at the Mater Hospital following the incident.

A garda spokeswoman said no money was taken during the raid. The three raiders escaped from the premises through the back door of the post office.
