Divers to continue search for remains of missing fishermen
Divers are set to continue their searches today for the remains of seven fishermen missing off the south-east coast.
The men have been missing since the sinking of the Pere Charles and the Honeydew II within hours of each other during stormy conditions more than two weeks ago.
Yesterday, navy divers spent two-and-a-half hours working on the wreck of the Pere Charles off Hook Head and managed to search the wheelhouse, galley, fish deck and hold.
They are hoping to enter the living quarters today.
Garda divers, meanwhile, managed to clear debris from the wreck of the Honeydew II off Ram Head yesterday, but were unable to gain access to the inside of the trawler.
They are hoping to be able to do so today after clearing the remaining debris from the vessel.
