Navy divers are hoping to finally be able to conduct a thorough search of the wreck of the Pere Charles this afternoon.

Bad weather has so far hampered efforts to get inside the wreck to search for the remains of its five missing crew members.

The trawler sank almost two weeks amid stormy conditions off the coast of Hook Head in Co Wexford.

Meanwhile, divers are also on standby to search the wreck of the Honeydew II off the coast of Co Waterford today.

The Coastguard believes it has located the vessel on the seabed three miles from Ram Head.

The Honeydew II sank just a few hours after the Pere Charles tragedy, claiming the lives of two of its four crew members.
