Gardaí investigate failed kidnap robbery

Gardaí were today investigating the first attempted 'tiger' kidnapping of the new year after an armed gang held hostages captive in a botched robbery bid.

Three armed men kidnapped a security firm worker and two other people and held them overnight in Swords, north Co Dublin, before demanding cash be handed over from the company.
