Minister announces €15m to boost childcare provision

Minister for Children Brian Lenihan has announced €15m in funding aimed at improving the provision of childcare facilities nationwide.

More than €11m of the money will go to local childcare committees, while €1m has been allocated to the implementation of the National Childminders Initiative.

The other €3m will go to voluntary organisations like Barnardos and Childminding Ireland.
