House fire in Kildare claims two lives

Two young people are dead following a house fire in Co Kildare today.

It broke out at a house in McMurrough Hill, Curragh Camp, shortly before 3am this morning.

Three fire brigade units, from Naas, Newbridge and the Curragh Army Camp attended the scene and found the bodies in an upstairs bedroom.

The dead are believed to be a man and woman in their 20s.

A technical examination will be carried out later to try and establish the cause of the fire.
