Violent storms brought down lines which has left West Donegal cut off.

At its height, up to 30,000 customers throughout the country were without power due to a combination of strong winds and a lightening storm which came in from the west.

The ESB is attempting to fix faults at four sub-stations serving thousands of homes and crews are working in Dunlow, Derrybeg and Bunbeg to restore power.
