Seal pups released back into wild after recent storms
Three seal pups are being released back into wild today after being washed up during the recent storms.
The bad weather during the pupping season has separated many young seals from their mothers.
The Irish Seal Sanctuary has been overrun with pups in recent weeks, and are today releasing three from their care on Greystones beach in Co Wicklow.
Secretary Pauline Beades is asking people to look out for them in case they are washed up again.
“These pups, they are fit and healthy, they are just a little bit lighter than we would usually like to release our seals,” she said.
