Fathers group calls on Govt to wake up to responsibilities
The Unmarried and Separated Fathers of Ireland group is calling on the Government to wake up to its responsibilities towards fathers.
The organisation says four men committed suicide in the run-up to Christmas because they were denied access to their children.
It also says 500 fathers called its helpline or consulted its website on Christmas Day.
Spokesman Ray Kelly says the figures highlight the need for measures to ensure equality for separated and unmarried fathers.
