Taoiseach calls on people to visit the elderly over Christmas

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has called on people with spare time over the coming days to visit elderly neighbours, in particular those who live on their own.

He says a growing number of people are becoming isolated because Ireland is in danger of losing its sense of community.
