Man arrested in connection with Saulite killing

Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a man in connection with the murder of Baiba Saulite.

The man, who's in his 30s was arrested at around half seven this morning in the Tallaght area.

28-year-old mother-of-two Baiba Saulite was gunned down as she stood in the doorway of her north Co. Dublin home last month.

Her two children were asleep in an upstairs bedroom at the time of the killing.

Today’s development brings to three the number of people who have been arrested in connection with her murder.

Two other men who were arrested earlier this month were released without charge.

The man detained this morning can be questioned by gardaí for up to 36 hours. He was taken to Swords garda station for questioning.

Meanwhile, Ms. Saulite's estranged husband was jailed for two years today, after he admitted to abducting the couple's two boys.

Hassan Hassan is already serving four years for his part in a car rigging scam.
