O'Reilly trial date set
A date of June 18 has been set for the trial of Joe O’Reilly who has been charged with the murder of his wife Rachel.
Counsel for the prosecution said the case is expected to last five to six weeks when it goes ahead at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin in the new year.
Mr Justice Paul Carney said the June slot was the only time a case of that sort of duration could be accommodated.
Thirty-five-year-old Mr O’Reilly with an address at Lambay View, Beldarragh, the Naul, north Co Dublin will stand trial for the murder of his wife Rachel. The mother-of-two who was found beaten to death at their home in October 2004.
Mr O’Reilly is on bail and an application was made to vary conditions to allow him to reside in Baldarragh on Saturday nights.
