The family of a French woman murdered in Ireland 10 years ago are to attend a special memorial mass in Cork today.

The family of a French woman murdered in Ireland 10 years ago are to attend a special memorial mass in Cork today.

The service marks the 10th anniversary of the death of Sophie Toscan du Plantier, whose body was found in a laneway near her holiday home in west Cork.

The 39 year-old mother-of-two was beaten to death, and her body was found near Toormore on December 23rd, 1996.

Her parents, George and Marguerite Bouniol, and aunt Madeleine Opalka will attend a special anniversary Mass in Goleen.

They’re expected to appeal again for help to bring their Sophie’s killer to justice.

No one has been charged with her murder to date.
