Police in North appeal for witnesses of road fatalities

Police in the North have appealed for witnesses of a double fatal road accident in Co Antrim earlier today.

It's understood that 23-year-old Claire Wakeland and 25-year-old Lisa McFerran died when they were hit by a vehicle on the Ballybogey Road near Portrush, at around 2 am this morning.

A man who had been questioned in relation to the incident has now been released.

The PSNI have appealed to anyone who saw the incident to come forward.
