Pedestrian killed in Cork accident

An elderly pedestrian has died after he was hit by a car in Co Cork yesterday evening.

The accident happened on the main Cork to Macroom road at around 5.30pm.

The victim, who was in his 60s, died at the scene.

His name has not yet been released.
