Public bed cost hikes 'will drive up insurance'

The 25% increase in the cost to private health patients to stay in a public hospital bed will drive up health insurance costs, according to a spokesman for the Irish Patients' Association.

Stephen McMahon says the effect will be to drive up insurance premiums by 5%-6%.
