Small businesses - which employ 800,000 people in Ireland, or 40% of the workforce - have seen their administrative burden reduced in this year's Budget.

Minister for Finance Brian Cowen has announced a range of measures around accounting and regulation which he says will cut down on red tape and administrative obstacles for small businesses.
