The Government is being criticised for failing to implement its own policies on improving the lives of Travellers.

The criticism is being made to mark the start of Traveller Week.

The Pavee Point support group says the Government has made itself look good by publishing policies to improve the lives of Travellers, but has failed to implement many of those initiatives.

Spokesperson Ronnie Fay says more must be done to encourage members of the Travelling community to take part in society.
