Fee-paying pupils more likely to take university courses

Students who go to fee-paying schools are significantly more likely to go to university than to an institute of technology, according to figures published this morning.

The latest college-entry figures compiled by The Irish Independent show that more than one quarter of first-year university students have attended fee-paying or grind schools.
