TEEU concerned about delay in new Cork power station

The Technical, Engineering and Electrical Union (TEEU ) has warned that the country could face serious electricity shortages in a year's time if plans to build a new power station in Cork are not speeded up.

A license for the proposed station in Aghada has been pending for 10 months .

The TEEU says it is concerned that the new plant will not be built in time to meet rising demand and this could seriously threaten power supplies.
