Adams: SF won’t be deflected by dissident threats

Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams has said he won't be deterred by threats against him from disaffected republicans opposed to changes in the party's policy on policing.

Mr Adams, Martin McGuinness and Gerry Kelly are all reported to have tightened their personal security amid fear of attack by dissidents angered by their imminent moves to endorse the PSNI.

Speaking this morning, the Sinn Féin president confirmed that a particular threat had been made towards some members of the party leadership.

However, he said this would not deflect him or his colleagues from "doing what we think is the right thing".
