Gardaí investigating a sexual assault on a young woman in Dublin city centre tonight appealed to the public to help them identify three suspects.

Gardaí investigating a sexual assault on a young woman in Dublin city centre tonight appealed to the public to help them identify three suspects.

The woman, who was in her early 20s, was attacked in a stairwell of an apartment block in Parnell Street by three men after meeting one of the men earlier in the city centre.

The serious sexual assault took place at Kings Court Apartments at Parnell Street between 2am and 3am last Saturday, November 4.

Gardaí appealed to the public for information as they issued descriptions of the suspects involved in the incident. All three men were described as in their 20s and around 5’10” in height. One man was described as wearing a khaki green jacket over a black hoodie, dark jeans and white runners.

The second man was wearing a dark coloured rain jacket, dark jeans and a woolly hat. The third man was wearing a blue rain jacket with a part yellow collar, jeans and a camouflage baseball cap.

A garda spokesman said the woman left her friends at 2am and began walking up O’Connell Street when she was approached by a man at the junction with Cathal Brugha Street.

The spokesman said: “He walked with her across the road to the AIB bank where he grabbed her and forced her to walk up Parnell Street towards Capel Street and to the apartment complex in Parnell Street where the assault took place on the stairwell.”

Detectives said the victim had called out to several people who were in the area for assistance.

Store Street gardaí appealed to anyone who was in the O’Connell Street area or on Parnell Street between 2am and 3am on November 4 to contact them at 01 666 8000 or on the garda confidential phone on 1800 666 111.
