Five-year-old hit in shooting
A five-year-old boy was injured in a shooting incident in Limerick City last night.
The incident happened when shots were fired at a group of people in the O’Malley Park area of Southill at 7.30pm.
The victim, who was injured in a thigh, was rushed to Limerick Regional Hospital. Gardaí said his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening at this stage.
Detectives believe the incident is linked to a continuing feud between families in the area.
Gardaí carried out searches and examined a car which was also hit by gunfire.
Officers appealed for information to help with inquiries.
