Woman who murdered mother's lover convicted of prostitution

One of the sisters who callously murdered their mother’s African lover before hacking him to pieces and dumping bits of his body around Dublin was today convicted of prostitution.

Charlotte Mulhall, who is awaiting sentence for the brutal killing, was fined €200 for soliciting on Lad Lane near the Grand Canal in September of this year.

The mother of a five month old baby was on bail for the murder charge when stopped by gardaí.

She has seven days to pay the fine.

The 23-year-old from Kilcare Gardens, Tallaght, pleaded guilty to the charge at Dublin District Court.

Along with her sister Linda, the pair were convicted by a jury on Saturday of killing Somalian Farah Swaleh Noor, their mother Kathleen’s boyfriend.

It was one of the most gruesome murder cases for many years, with the sisters taking five hours to chop up their victim, putting his body-parts in bags and travelling on buses to dump him around the city.

They made several trips to Dublin’s Royal Canal, carrying parts in bags and throwing the torso and limbs into the water. The murder came to light when youths playing in the area spotted a severed leg.

Initially, police thought the killing had been a ritual one.

Farah Swaleh Noor’s head has never been found.

A jury of six men and six women at the Central Criminal Court took 18 hours to reach a decision delivering their verdicts on the fourth day of deliberations.

Charlotte was found guilty of murder. Her sister 31-year-old mother of four Linda Mulhall was found guilty of manslaughter.

They will be sentenced on December 4.
