This year's Dublin Marathon is underway with more than ten thousand runners taking part.

Around half the competitors are believed to have come from overseas.

Motorists are being warned of extensive traffic restrictions throughout the city centre.

The race began at Kildare Street at 9am, proceeding down Westland Row, up the quays and then across to Capel Street.
