30kgs of heroin seized in raid on apartment in west Dublin
Gardaí in Dublin have seized a huge quantity of heroin during a raid on what they are describing as a drugs-mixing factory in the Clondalkin area of the city.
Thirty kgs of the drug were found during a raid on an apartment by officers involved in Operation Anvil.
Gardaí say the haul had an estimated street value of €6m.
Cannabis worth €100,000 was also found, along with drug-mixing agents, weighing scales, cash and a machine gun with ammunition.
Gardaí say the apartment was empty when they raided it, but they believe it had been occupied up to a short time before detectives arrived.
No arrests have yet been made.
Less than two weeks ago, another 10kg of heroin was also seized during a search of a car in Clondalkin.
