The 40-year-old man was arrested in Waterford shortly after 9am this morning and taken to the city’s main garda station for questioning.
He is being detained under the provisions of Section 4, Criminal Justice Act.
Earlier this week, detectives said they had narrowed their search for the prime suspect in the killing of the 35-year-old office worker.
