Gardaí believe Margaret Walsh knew her killer
Gardaí in Waterford say they believe murdered mother-of-one Margaret Walsh knew her killer.
The 35-year-old's body was pulled from the River Suir on Sunday, two weeks after she disappeared from her home in Ballinakill Downs.
A post mortem has confirmed that she died of injuries to her upper body believed to have been inflicted with an implement.
Speaking at a press conference this morning, Superintendent David Sheehan said gardaí were making significant progress in the case and were confident they would be able to bring it to a close.
He also said a reconstruction that took place two days ago in an effort to jog the public's memory was highly significant and gardaí were following all leads that arose from it.
Reports this morning said detectives involved in the case were closing in on the suspected killer and could make an arrest within days.
