Woman's body recovered from River Suir in Waterford

The body of a woman in her 30's has been recovered from the River Suir near Clock Tower in Waterford city this afternoon.

The body of a woman in her 30's has been recovered from the River Suir near Clock Tower in Waterford city this afternoon.

It was recovered from the river at 3pm, and has been taken to Waterford Regional Hospital.

The State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy will carry out a post mortem later this evening.

A huge search operation has been ongoing in Waterford since the beginning of this month for missing woman Margaret Meg Walsh but as yet there has been no confirmation of the identity of the remains.
