Fianna Fáil and PDs likely to retain power, says new poll
If the electorate went to the polls today in a general election the current Government would more than likely be re-elected.
According to a Millward Brown IMS opinion poll in today’s Sunday Tribune satisfaction with the Taoiseach is up 2% while support for Fianna Fáil is up to 42%.
When asked about the recent scandal where the Taoiseach accepted cash from friends and associates for personal reasons, 55% of people believe that Bertie Ahern was wrong to take money. However, 65% of people believe that he was right not to resign.
The poll also shows that support for Fine Gael and leader Enda Kenny has declined.
