PSNI chief to face questions about IMC assessment on IRA
PSNI chief constable Hugh Orde is expected to face questions about the latest IMC report at a meeting of the North's Policing Board this afternoon.
The body set up to monitor paramilitary ceasefires said yesterday that the IRA was living up to its commitment to end violence and was "firmly set on a political strategy".
DUP members of the Policing Board are expected to question Mr Orde today about whether he agrees with the assessment that the IRA is dismantling its military structures.
They are also expected to press the chief constable about the alleged involvement of individual IRA members in organised crime and about the murder of Denis Donaldson earlier this year.
The IMC says it is unable to draw conclusions on who killed the former Sinn Fein official following his admission that he was a British spy.
