Trinity named among top 100 universities worldwide

Trinity College Dublin has become the first third-level institution in Ireland to be named among the top 100 universities in the world.

The college has been ranked 78th in the latest list of the best 200 universities in the world, which is published by the Times Higher Education Supplement in Britain.

Trinity has moved up the table from 111th last year and now has the 25th highest ranking of all European universities.

Harvard University in the United States tops the table, followed by Cambridge and Oxford in Britain.
