Gardaí question three over cocaine seizure

Three men were being questioned today after gardaí swooped on a suspected drugs gang in Co Roscommon.

The trio, two of whom are in their 20s and the third in his 40s, were detained following a planned operation in Doon, near Boyle yesterday afternoon.

Two cars were searched at a wood outside the town and a quantity of cocaine and cash was discovered.

A bullet proof vest was also recovered in the raid.

The drugs have an estimated street value of €140,000 and have been taken away for forensic analysis.

The trio are being detained under Section Two of the Drug Trafficking Act at Sligo Garda Station.

All three men remain in custody today.
