Two killed, five hurt on roads overnight

Two men have been killed in Galway and in the northeast, two people were taken to hospital with serious injuries after road accidents overnight.

The two men, the drivers of two separate cars, were killed in a head-on collision at Killure on the Ballinasloe road yesterday evening.

Driving conditions in the area were said to be poor.

Three people who were injured in the accident were taken to hospital in Ballinasloe.

Two people remain in hospital at Our Lady of Lourdes in Drogheda this morning where they are being treated for serious injuries following a crash on the Drumconrath Road near Kingscourt last night.
