A Lithuanian teenager charged with robbery in connection with an alleged sex attack on a woman in Dublin in July has been remanded on continuing bail pending directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions and the possibility of more serious charges.

The 16-year-old boy had been charged at the Dublin Children’s Court charged with robbery of a mobile phone and an ipod from a woman, who is in her twenties, at Castlefield Park, in Blanchardstown, Dublin, on July 30 last.

The case had been adjourned since July pending the DPP’s directions.

Garda Brian O’Conner, of Blanchardstown Station, told Judge Ann Ryan today that the DPP’s directions were not yet available. He said that statements have been taken but some reports relating to the case still needed to be obtained.

Judge Ryan remanded the boy, who was supported in court by his mother, on continuing bail until November.
